SEWANEE, Tenn. – Adele Cassidy had 21 digs as the Tigers swept the Warriors on Saturday at home, 25-20, 25-18, 25-18.

The Tigers had 35 kills for the match, Savannah Gann recording 10 kills and Ashley Crosby followed with 7. The Tigers had 61 digs for the match, Cassidy recording almost a third of Sewanee's digs. Jessie Atkinson and Sophia Caruso followed on the leaderboard for the Tigers with 9 and 7 kills respectively.

In the first set, the Tigers stayed a couple of points ahead of the Warriors, but a late 7-point run got the Tigers within striking distance of the set. An ace by Emma Meyer earned them set point as they took the first set, 25-20.

Hendrix came out swinging in the second set and stayed tight with the Tigers for the first half of the set due to a couple of errors by the Tigers. However, at 14 all, the Tigers played smarter as they had a four-point run and ran away with the set as they held the Warriors to only four more points in the set. The Tigers had 13 kills and three service aces to Hendrix's 5 kills and no aces.

The third set opened with a competitive point that Hendrix came away with, but the Tigers responded with six straight points. Hendrix fought back to keep themselves in the match, but with Emma Meyer serving, the Tigers won 7 straight points, including two aces from Meyer, to give the Tigers another huge lead, 20-10. The Warriors had a late push as they saved 4 Tigers match points, but the Tigers came away with the match, 25-18.

Sewanee returns to the court Sunday, October 1st at Noon to face Rhodes to end their five-game home-stand before they had on the road for five straight conference matches.
