SEWANEE, Tenn. – Despite controlling the run of play for most of the match and quadrupling the number of shots by their opponent, Sewanee women's soccer played to a scoreless draw against Widener on Sunday in Baltimore, Md.
The Tigers outshot the Pride, 16-4, including 8-1 in the first half, forcing Widener Nicole Rende to make six saves.
Brianna Fee posted six shots for Sewanee and
Kate Thomson added three in the draw, giving the Tigers a 0-1-1 mark after two outings to begin the season.
Leah Atkins collected one save in net for Sewanee, facing four total shots. The Tigers registered the only three corner kicks in the match as well.
Sewanee travels to Piedmont University this Thursday for a 1 p.m. CT match, the third of four consecutive road tilts to start the campaign.
