Field Hockey Falls to Ohio Wesleyan

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Taylor Kelsel and Claire Damare combined for 22 saves in goal in Sewanee's 8-0 loss to Ohio Wesleyan in field hockey action Sunday at Puett Field. 

Sewanee's defense was put to the test, as the Bishops spent most of the game on the Tigers' end of the field. Ohio Wesleyan posted 57 shots with 31 on goal, as both Sewanee goalies recorded 11 saves for the game. Mimi Wilson also contributed to the team's defense with a defensive save. The Bishops had 21 corner attempts, with Sewanee allowing four goals on those shots. 

The Tigers open conference play next weekend, facing Rhodes on Saturday, at 2 p.m. and then Wittenberg on Sunday in Memphis at 11 a.m. 

The Tigers return to the mountain to continue conference play against Marian and Concordia Wisconsin on September 23-24.
