HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Tigers got out to a strong start once again thanks to No. 23 Nicole Nowak/Emma Smith (20-4), as the duo earned their 11th victory in a row. The duo posted an 8-5 win to get Sewanee on the board first.

-Case Western Reserve responded by defeating No. 1 Brooke Despriet/Katherine Petty (18-5), 8-6, to even the contest at one point each.

-Sewanee responded quickly with an 8-6 victory by Ansley Carpenter/Natalia Nassar (14-4) to take the lead after doubles play.

-Case reclaimed the lead after securing victories at the No. 1 and No. 5 points. Petty (11-4) made it 3-3 with set scores of 6-1, 6-4 over Katalina Wang.

-Unfortunately, the Spartans got within one point of clinching with No. 39 Lily McCloskey's win at the No. 2.

-However, being down one did not phase Sewanee at all. Nassar's (13-3) seventh straight victory was a crucial one as she tied the match with her 6-1, 6-2 victory at the No. 6.

-Tied at four points each, the match came down to the No. 3 flight between Despriet and Radha Patel. Taking the first set, 6-2, the sophomore was in a battle in the second set.Tied at three games each, Despriet son the next two games to take a 5-3 lead.

-Needing one more game to win the match, Patel cut it to 5-4, but in the next game, Despriet got out to a 40-0 lead before Patel cut it to 40-30. With Despriet (9-5) serving, she was able to clinch the point and match with a 6-4 result.
