ATLANTA - Announced on Monday afternoon by the Southern Athletic Association (SAA), senior tennis player
Emma Smith from the University of the South secured the SAA Women's Tennis Player of the Week honor, as voted on by the head coaches.
Playing in both singles matches at the top flight against Berry and Oglethorpe, the Mount Pleasant, S.C. native defeated Juliana Mascagni of the Vikings, 6-2, 6-2 on Saturday.
The next day against the Stormy Petrels, Smith cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Izzy Forster.
Smith, now 7-9 on the year, is undefeated in the month of April, winning her last five matches.
The Tigers will return to the courts this weekend at Birmingham-Southern on Saturday.
