ROME, Ga. - The University of the South softball team posted consecutive 8-0 decisions to No. 5 Berry College in a Southern Athletic Association (SAA) doubleheader, Saturday afternoon from Kay Williams Field.
Berry, the defending SAA Tournament Champions and advanced to the semifinals of the Division III National Championships, is ranked fifth in the preseason poll administered by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).

HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 1
-In the opener, Berry scored a run in the first and added three more in the third to take a 4-0.
-Leading 7-0 after five innings, the Vikings made it a run-rule victory with a single run in the sixth.

-In the second game, Berry tacked on three runs in the first, one in the fourth and two each in the fifth and sixth to secure the victory.
