ROME, Ga. - The University of the South track and field teams began the outdoor schedule on Saturday with the Victor Ice Breaker Duals, hosted by Berry College.

WOMEN TOP PERFORMERS

Emma Grace Hendrickson won the 3,000 steeplechase with a 12:44.74 performance.
-In the 800 meters,
Sam Ude clocked in a top-20 finish with a 2:39.15 run. Later in the 1,500 meters, Ude clocked in at 5:31.73.
-In the 100 hurdles,
Jocelyn Covaney took fifth place with a 17.37-second performance. In the 400 hurdles, she finished in sixth place with a 1:13.88.

Emma Howlett competed in the shot put (9.58m), discus (29.11m) and hammer throw (33.77m) on Saturday.
MEN TOP PERFORMERS

Brandon Christ ran the 800 (2:07.30) and the 1,500 meters (4:23.46)

Carson Coody ran an 11.71-second sprint in the 100 meters.

Lane Gamble (54.37) and
Mitt Black (54.97) ran in the 800 meters.

After taking a week off for spring break, the Purple and White will return to action on March 18 at the Falcon Track & Field Classic from the University of Montevallo (Ala.).
