ROME, Ga. - The University of the South track and field teams began the outdoor schedule on Saturday with the Victor Ice Breaker Duals, hosted by Berry College.

WOMEN TOP PERFORMERS
-In her first collegiate event in the 800 meters,
Shay Conn ran a 2:47.89 for a 13th place finish, good for second-best among Division III runners in the event.
MEN TOP PERFORMERS

Alex Coley was the second-fastest runner among D-III competitions with a 16:27.15 in the 5K, earning a lifetime personal best in the event.

Carson Coody missed his season-best in the 100 meters with an 11.79-second finish, second-best among Division III sprinters.

Lane Gamble (24.78) and
Mitt Black (24.83) ran outdoor bests in the 200 meters. Gamble also ran a PR in the 400 (53.93).
-In the 1,500 meters,
Brandon Christ improved on his outdoor best with a 4:22.79 in the event.

After taking a week off for spring break, the Purple and White will return to action on March 18 at the Falcon Track & Field Classic from the University of Montevallo (Ala.).
