PASADENA, Calif. - The No. 22 University of the South men's tennis team fell in a top-25 matchup with the No. 13 California Institute of Technology (Caltech), 5-4, Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Caltech won two of three doubles points. However, No. 18

Quinn Wicklund (9-2) cruised to an 8-2 win at the top flight.
-In singles, the Tigers evened the match at three points apiece thanks to wins by
Noah Holsclaw (6-3) and
Gil Weston (9-2). Holsclaw, at the No. 4 position, after dropping the first set, 6-7 (4), rallied to win the next two, 6-4, 6-2.
-Weston was forced to a third set tiebreak with a 7-6 (5) win to clinch the No. 6 point.
-Unfortunately for the Purple and White, the Beavers clinched the match with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3.
-No. 8 Theron (11-3) overcame a first set loss to defeat No. 48 Kyle McCandless, 6-7 (3), 6-2, 7-5.
