HOW IT HAPPENED
-An offensive first quarter, the Purple and White rolled to a 3-0 lead. Davis Gillenwater started the game with a goal with less than 11 minutes left in the period.

-Later in the quarter, JoJo Fogarty made it a 2-0 lead for the Purple Tigers.

-Near the end of the quarter, after Jack Selner forced a turnover and a Mac Elliott picked up the ground ball, Ashton Anton later struck for the Tigers' third goal of the quarter.

-To start the second quarter, Charlie Warren won the face off, and later, Jack Westfall struck for the goal to push Sewanee's lead to 4-0.

-Westfall was around again with under eight minutes left in the half. After Anton picked up the ground ball on a Sewanee shot attempt, Westfall found the back of the cage to make it 5-0.

-After Messiah got the ball back on an out-of-bounds situation, the Falcons went down the field and scored their first goal of the game with 5:52 left in the half.

-Messiah added a late first half goal to make it a 5-2 game at the break.

-The Falcons started the third stanza with a quick strike to make it a 5-3 lead for the Tigers. Adding another goal, Messiah had a one-goal deficit with 9:10 left in the third.

-Sewanee had goals from Devon Root and Phelps Thomas to give the Tigers the 7-5 lead after three quarters.

-A defensive bout for most of the final stanza, a key insurance goal by Davis Gillenwater would be beneficial for the Tigers late.

-Messiah had two goals, one via man-up, with under a minute left in the game, but the Tigers stood tall to pick up the victory.
