HOW IT HAPPENED
-It was a Tiger sweep in doubles. After a setback on Friday night, No. 1 Brook Despriet and
Katherine Petty (9-1) earned their first win of the spring, defeating No. 12 Lauren Long/Margaret Carlton.
-Along with

Ansley Carpenter (2-0) winning at the second doubles point, No. 23
Nicole Nowak/
Emma Smith (5-1) edged Becket Water/Gabi Moss, 8-6 to earn the sweep.
-With Despriet (3-1) and Petty (2-1) also securing wins in singles, the story of the day was at the No. 2 flight in Carpenter. Going into two tiebreaks and battling injuries in the second deciding set, the sophomore prevailed with a 7-6 (6), 7-6 (4) win for her second win of the season.
-In the 27th meeting all-time between the two schools, Sewanee earned its seventh win over Washington and Lee. Since 2018, the Tigers have won three of the last four meetings versus the Generals, with all contests taking place away from the Domain.
