Field Hockey closes road slate

SEWANEE, Tenn. – Bunny Rutledge scored for Sewanee as they fell to Centre in field hockey action on Wednesday night in Danville, Kentucky. 

Sewanee played a tight first half at Centre as they kept the Colonels to one goal on 15 shots. Rutledge got the Tigers within striking distance as she scored off an assist from Sydney Simpson to get the Tigers on the board at 1-2. 

Centre made a late push in the second half as they scored two goals in each quarter. The Colonels posted 35 shots, 19 on goal to the Tigers one. Claire Damare posted six saves and Taylor Klesel recorded 13 in goal for the Tigers. 

Centre travels to the Mountain to play on Friday night at 6 p.m. Sewanee then has their senior day on Saturday morning with festivities starting before 11 a.m. against Rhodes.
