Sewanee teams all earn All-American honors in day 1 of ITA Cup

ROME, Ga. – Jordan Theron, Quinn Wicklund, Katherine Petty, and Brooke Despriet all earned All-American honors as they won their first round matches in Rome, Ga. at the ITA Cup. 

Theron earned All-American honors in both singles and doubles on Thursday. Theron won his singles match against Caleb Wilkins from Chapman University in a tight two sets. Theron came out on top, 7-6 (4), 7-6 (3). Theron will face Emil Grantcharov from the University of Chicago on Friday at 1:30 p.m. 

In doubles, Theron and Wicklund came away with another close win over Jangbahadur and Kong from Carnegie Mellon University 6-3, 7-5. They will face the doubles team Ganji and Maes from Tufts on Friday night. 

For the women, Petty and Despriet faced Olivia Kim and Rush Hill from Trinity as they won 6-3, 6-4 to move onto the quarterfinals. They are scheduled to play on Friday at 7 p.m.
