SEWANEE, Tenn. - The University of the South volleyball team rolled to a straight-set victory over the Mississippi University for Women on Wednesday night inside Juhan Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-A steady opening set, the Tigers used a .375 attack percentage (16-4-32) to defeat the Owls, 25-20.
-The match was well in hand for the Purple and White, as they out-killed the visitors, 31-15, in the next two sets to sweep the contest.
-For the match, Sewanee recorded 47 kills to MUW's 29, and posted a team attack percentage of .261.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS

Laurel Burkhardt led all attackers with 13 kills, while
Ashley Crosby had 10 kills on a .435 swing percentage. The junior had zero errors on 23 attacks.

Emma Meyer posted her second straight double-double with 35 assists and 11 digs, while
Anna Ball dug out 16 attacks.
-Sewanee improves to 6-0 all-time against MUW, including an 18-0 mark in sets.
MUW KEY STATISTICS
-Zoe Hansen (.316) and Maggie Griggs each had nine and seven kills, respectively, as they were the only two Owls who had a swing percentage of .300 or better with more than 10 total attacks.
-Madison Suggs also contrubted 15 digs.

Sewanee returns to the road this weekend with the Transylvania Invitational, as the Purple and White will face Dubuque (Iowa) and St. Benedict (Minn.) on Friday.
