Atlanta, GA: On Friday, September 30th, the University of the South Men's Soccer team traveled down to Atlanta to continue SAA play with a match up with preseason favorite Oglethorpe. S second half goal by
Connor Dail proved to be the difference, as Sewanee came away with a 1-0 win, their first over Oglethorpe since 2014.
INSIDE THE MATCH UP:
Sewanee (8-1, 2-0 SAA) 1, Oglethorpe (4-4-1, 1-1 SAA)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
-Â Sewanee came out energized, shooting the ball five times in the first half.

Will Hawgood put a shot on frame, but was turned away by the Stormy Petrel goalkeeper.
- Sewanee would be awarded two corner kick opportunities in the first half, but were unable to connect, as the half ended 0-0.
- 90 seconds into the second half, Hawgood would once again fire one on frame, but was stopped again by the goalkeeper.
- At the 60 minute mark,
Connor Dail found the back of the net, capitalizing on a failed clearance attempt by Oglethorpe.

JP Furman continued his strong season, registering three saves in his eighth shutout of the year.Â

Tyler Scott played all 90 minutes on the defensive end to shut down the Oglethorpe offense.Â
