Sewanee, Tenn: On Monday, September 12th, the SAA announced University of the South's Senior Goalkeeper
JP Furman as the SAA Defensive Player of the Week. This is the second week in a row the Tigers have had a player named Player of the Week, after
Will Hawgood took home Offensive Player of the Week one week ago.
Furman continued his strong start to the 2022 season, as he registered six saves in a 1-0 loss against #3 Washington and Lee on September 10th. Furman saw 22 shots in total come his way on Saturday, helping to keep the Tigers within striking distance with his season high six save total.Â
"JP has been stellar in goal for us all season thus far. We are happy to see him be recognized for his effort, but we firmly believe he's just getting started," Head Coach
Tony Pacella had to say. Â
He will look to continue his strong season as #22 Emory comes to the Mountain on Wednesday, September 14th. Kickoff is set for 6:30PM.Â
