Despriet and Hall Named ITA Doubles All-Americans

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released on Wednesday, June 8 the list of All-Americans for Division III. Freshmen duo Brooke Despriet and Alice Hall were named Doubles All-Americans after a stellar 2022 season. 

Finishing ninth in the final national Doubles rankings of the 2022 season and second in the region. Playing as the top doubles team in the Atlantic South for the second half of the year, the duo recorded a 17-5 overall record and 14-3 at the No. 1 position.

The All-American status is awarded to doubles teams that are a top 4 seed in the NCAA doubles tournament, win one round at the NCAA doubles tournament, finish in the Top 10 in the final ITA Women's Doubles Rankings, win ITA Fall Regional Tournament, or win a first-round match at the ITA Cup.

Despriet/Hall recorded two wins against nationally-ranked doubles teams, defeating then No. 21 Jackie Bukzin/Mia Kintiroglou of Amherst (Mass.) and the No. 18 Jamilah Karah/Evelyn Safar of Bowdoin (Maine). 

Becoming the 15th and 16th All-Americans in Doubles for Sewanee Women's Tennis, they were also invited to participate in the 2022 NCAA Doubles Championship.  

The duo has also received other major postseason awards in 2022. Hall, who finished 35th in the national Singles rankings, was named the Southern Athletic Association's (SAA) Player of the Year. Despriet was honored as the league's Newcomer of the Year. 

Sewanee finished with a 21-4 overall record in 2022 and won their eighth SAA Regular Season and Tournament Championship.
