Women's Tennis Falls to Emory in NCAA Tournament

Box Score Atlanta, GA: The University of the South Women's Tennis team fell to the Eagles of Emory 5-0 in the second round of the 2022 NCAA Tournament. 

How it Happened

The #8 Eagles got off to a hot start, sweeping the #10 ranked Tigers in doubles competition. 

Alice Hall and Brooke Despriet battled hard in the first match, but they fell 8-5. 

Ansley Carpenter and Natalia Nassar were handed their first doubles loss of the season, losing a close decision 8-7.

Nicole Nowak and Emma Smith lost another close decision 8-6 to wrap up doubles play. 

In singles play, the Tigers lost two matches to give Emory the win. Despriet fell 6-1, 6-3, and and Carpenter fell 6-4, 6-2.

Season Wrap Up:

The Tigers end the season with a record of 21-4, with wins over 5 ranked teams, an undefeated conference season, and yet another SAA Championship.
