ROME, Ga. - The University of the South track and field teams finished competition at the 2022 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Track & Field Championships, Saturday from Valhalla Stadium on the campus of Berry College.

WOMEN'S TOP PERFORMERS

Brianna Fee set a new personal best time in the 800 meters and scored for Sewanee on the final day, clocking in at 2:28.75.
-In the 1,500 meters,
Janie Schmitt and
Madison Sellers earned career-bests. Schmitt clocked in at 5:12.86, while Sellers improved her mark by eight seconds with a 5:14.84.

Merrit Newton ran a 19:55.94 in the 5,000 meters, earning a new top mark. She also ran the 1,500 meters later in the day with a 5:33.29.

Jocelyn Covaney also scored for Sewanee, as she clocked in at 16.88 seconds in the 100-meter hurdle final.
MEN'S TOP PERFORMERS
-After running the 10K on Friday,
Patrick Rodriguez responded with a new season-best in the 5,000 meters, clocking in at 17:38.31.
-
Christian Shushok ran a 17:27.84 in the 5K, and later, he posted a 4:41.96 in the 1,500 meters.
