MEMPHIS - The University of the South baseball team saw Rhodes College walk off twice, as the Lynx swept a Saturday doubleheader, 3-2 and 5-4, Saturday afternoon in Southern Athletic Association (SAA) play from Stauffer Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 1
-After the team traded zeros for the first three innings, it was Sewanee who dented the scoreboard first in the top of the fourth. With one out in the frame, and after a
Wade Sansone bae hit,
Wesley House went yard for a two-run home run to give the visitors the 2-0 advantage.
-In the seventh, after
Carter Huffman led off the inning with a triple, while
Jack Ahlum was pinch hitting, Huffman scored on a wild pitch to give the Purple Tigers the 3-0 edge.
-Rhodes would tie the game in the bottom half of the inning with back-to-back extra base hits.
-Sewanee would have runners at first and second with one out in the eighth, but back-to-back strikeouts ended the Tiger threat.
-In the bottom of the ninth, Rhodes took advantage of
Logan Martin coming out of game as Dante Messina's walk-off base hit gave the Lynx the win in the opener.
HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 2
-Sewanee took advantage of a leadoff base runner via a throwing error, as
Sully McCreery scored on a
Wesley House sac fly.
-
Carter Huffman brought
Alden Wright home with a base knock up the middle to give the good guys the 2-0 advantage.
-Rhodes did tack on a run in the bottom of the third thanks to a leadoff walk, but
Mike Lewishall got the run back for Sewanee in the fourth on a base hit to score
Luke Short.
-In the bottom of the fourth, the Lynx, once again, took advantage of a leadoff free pass, as three straight players reached base and two runs scored on the play to tie the game at three runs apiece.
-In the sixth, Sewanee took advantage of the leadoff free pass of their own, as
Wade Sansone came across the plate on Lewishall's base knock.
-For Rhodes in the bottom of the seventh, the Lynx broke the Tigers' hearts again, as John McNair hit a walk-off, two run home run to clinch the series.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-In game one,
Logan Martin earned the no-decision as he threw a career-high 131 pitches and struck out 12 batters in eight innings, his longest start of his career. Earning the quality start, he allowed three earned runs.
-
Wesley House launched his sixth homer of the season in game one as he drove in three runs in the twin bill.
-
Mike Lewishall posted multi-hit performances in both games, as he drove in two RBI.
RHODES KEY STATISTICS
-Dante Messina had a four-hit game with two RBI to lead the Lynx.
-Nick Ferazzi recorded eight strikeouts in seven innings of work for Rhodes in the opener.
