SEWANEE, Tenn. - The University of the South men's lacrosse team posted a 16-10 victory over Piedmont University, Wednesday night from historic Hardee-McGee Field at Harris Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-After Piedmont's leading scorer in Avery Jenks struck for the first goal of the game, Sewanee netted four straight goals in a three-minutue span to lead 4-1.
-The Lions were able to get back into the game thanks to miscues by the Tigers on the face off, but
Luke Valentine used a late man-up goal to lead, 6-4, after one quarter of play.
-Piedmont attempted to make a game out of it, making it a three-goal affair, 13-10, with 4:16 left in the game, but three straight goal by
Zach Crain,
Ashton Anton and
Brady Cole sealed the deal.

Luke Valentine scored a game-high seven points on five goals and two assists.

Ryan Hofstetter and
Drew Mullen recorded four points each. Hofstetter laced a hat trick, while Mullen contributed on three assists.

Andrew Perun and
Joe Orem each had eight ground balls and forced two turnovers. Perun also won 12-of-22 face offs.

Hampton Brannon (2-1) stopped seven shots in the win.
