Despriet and Hall Rack Up Weekly Awards for Third Time in 2022

ATLANTA - For the fourth straight week, the University of the South women's tennis team has been listed as a part of the Southern Athletic Association's (SAA) weekly tennis awards. For the second time in the last three weeks, Brooke Despriet and Alice Hall have won the weekly awards, as voted on by the league's head coaches. 

Despriet was named the Singles Player of the Week, while she and teammate Alice Hall were chosen as the Doubles Team of the Week.

Despriet, ranked sixth in the region and 46th in the nation, earned the conference's weekly honor after knocking off Centre's Katharine Sherman, 6-0, 6-1. Sherman was listed at 15th in the latest Atlantic South region poll. 

For the second time this season, the Cumming, Ga. native has been honored with the Singles Player of the Week accolade. 

Brooke Despriet and Alice Hall, SAA Doubles Team of the Week
The second-ranked doubles team in the region, Despriet and Hall defeated Emory's Ana Christina Perez and Christina Watson, 8-7 (4) at the No. 1 flight. The Emory duo is ranked sixth in the region. 

The team has been listed as the SAA's Doubles Team of the Week for the third time this year, including the second in the last three weeks. 

Earning the league's Team of the Week honor for the third time this season, including twice in the last three weeks. 

The duo is now 11-3 on the year and 8-2 in dual matches this spring. 

Sewanee, ranked seventh in the nation and second in the Atlantic South region rankings, will next step back into SAA play this weekend at home. The Tigers will host the Panthers of Birmingham-Southern College on Saturday for Senior Day and the Majors of Millsaps College on Sunday.
