ROME, Ga. - No. 14 Berry College took down the University of the South softball team in a Saturday doubleheader, 10-1 and 5-1, from Kay Williams Field.
The Vikings are ranked 14th in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III poll.

HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 1
-It was all Vikings in game one, as the home team took a 2-0 lead after two innings and 7-0 after three.
-Sewanee avoided the shutout thanks to an RBI single by
Sam Dean to score
Hanna Judycki in the fifth.
HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 2
-Berry posted a single run in the bottom of the third thanks to a one-out triple before adding two runs in the fourth.
-The Purple and White started the fifth with back-to-back hits.
Eve Bournias led off the frame with a triple, and
Peri Prestwood brought her home on a base hit.
-Unfortunately for Sewanee, the Vikings tacked on an insurance run in the fifth and sixth to seal the doubleheader sweep.
