SHERMAN, Texas - The University of the South softball team dropped a doubleheader to Austin College, 7-3 and 8-0, Thursday afternoon from Old Settlers Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 1
-A see-saw battle at the start, the Purple Tigers got on the board in the top half of the opening inning, as the offense all came with two outs in the frame.
Michaela Walker punched Sewanee's third straight base knock of the inning to score
Peri Prestwood.
-In the bottom of the first, the 'Roos made it a 1-1 affair thanks to a stolen base.

Eve Bournias led off the second inning with a triple in the right-center field gap. Next,
Kendell Goodrum socked a double down the line to give the visitors the lead again, 2-1.
-Unfortunately for Sewanee, Austin took its first lead in the bottom half of the frame, 3-2.
-In the third,
Sarah Wright tied the game again with a solo shot to left field. However, for Austin, thanks to a leadoff double, would reclaim the lead for good in the bottom of the fourth before adding three more in the fifth to seal the contest.
HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 2
-In the night cap, Austin sprinted out to a 2-0 lead, and it ballooned to a 6-0 lead after three innings.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS

Sarah Wright led the Tigers with two hits on the day, including her second home run of the season in game one.

Hanna Judycki also tallied a multi-hit game for the Tigers in game one.
AUSTIN KEY STATISTICS
-After posted a double in game one, Lauren Orozco went 4-for-4 in game two with three runs scored and an RBI.
