PENSACOLA, Fla. - The University of the South women's lacrosse saw its five-game winning streak come to an end on Wednesday afternoon, as Western New England University posted a 24-16 victory, from the Ashton Brosnaham Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Despite the Tigers getting the first goal of the game, the Golden Bears took control of the draw controls and scored next five goals to take a 5-1 lead with 9:44 left in the opening quarter.
-Sewanee was able to respond to even the score at five-all, but WNE reclaimed the lead, 6-5, after one quarter.
-The Purple Tigers did even the score again with a
Lizzie Chamberlin strike with 12:55 left in the half, but the Golden Bears used an 8-1 advantage on draws in the frame to lead 11-8 at the half.

Hattie Fogarty scored five times on Wednesday. The senior is three goals away from earning her 100th career goal. She also added seven draw controls, four ground balls and an assist.

Hadley Meadows posted four goals, while
Emma Burns added three goals.

Jessica Southworth and
Brooke Sigmon posted two caused turnovers each, while
Jocelyn Riopel scooped up five ground balls.

Molly Morris (5-3) posted 13 saves in the loss.
