No. 18 Men's Tennis Begins California Trip

PASADENA, Calif. - The No. 18 University of the South men's tennis team dropped two decisions to No. 38 Swarthmore College (Pa.) and No. 22 California Institute of Technology to begin their spring break trip. The Garnet won their match against the Tigers on March 11, 7-2, while the Beavers edged out a 5-4 win the next day, March 12.

HOW IT HAPPENED, SWARTHMORE
-The Garnet got out to a strong start with a sweep of doubles. 

-Sewanee secured two wins at the five and six of singles. Quinn Wicklund won in straight sets, and Talman Ramsey went to a third set with Noah Criss, 6-2, 1-6, 6-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED, CALTECH
-The next day against Caltech, the Purple Tigers won two of three in doubles. Peyton Erck/Quinn Wicklund earned the dub at the No. 1, while Gil Weston/Talman Ramsey secured the No. 3 point. 

-However, the Beavers used four of six singles wins to steal the match from the Tigers. Wicklund and Ramsey picked up wins for Sewanee, as they each are 7-4 this year.
