ALBANY, Ga. - The University of the South softball team suffered a doubleheader loss to Albany State University, falling to the Golden Rams, 13-0 and 14-5, Saturday afternoon from Golden Rams Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 1
-Albany State scored three runs in the first two inning to lead, 6-0. In the third, a Golden Rams grand slam made it a 10-0 affair.
HOW IT HAPPENED, GAME 2
-The bats came to life for Sewanee in game two, as they pushed out to a 5-0 lead in the fourth inning.
-In the opening frame, with two outs,
Sarah Wright and
Kendell Goodrum each recorded back-to-back base knocks. Wright laced a double to center field to score
Eve Bournias, who led off the game with a two-bagger. Next, Goodrum brought home Wright on a base hit to center field.
-In the second,
Maggie Willis scored Sewanee's third run thanks to an Albany State error.
-In the fourth, with the bases loaded,
Peri Prestwood scored Sewanee's fourth run thanks to Bournias' base knock. Next, a free pass by
Zoe Crockett saw Willis touch home plate for the 5-0 advantage.
-Unfortunately, for Sewanee, the wheels came off as Albany State scored 10 runs in the bottom half of the fourth before adding four in the sixth.

Sarah Wright each posted a double.

-Madison Hurts had two hits and scored three runs in game one.
-Keyatta Ayers also had three hits in both games with four runs scored and three RBI.
