The winner of Sunday's contest will play the winner of Birmingham-Southern/Oglethorpe in the semifinals at the highest remaining seed next Saturday, Feb. 26.

THE BASICS
(7) Sewanee (9-14, 4-9) at (2) Berry (16-8, 10-3) | Feb. 20, 1 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. CT
The Cage Center, Rome, Ga.
All-Time Series: Berry leads, 13-6
Last win vs. the Vikings: Jan. 11, 2019 at Berry (67-47)

A THIRD LOOK AT THE VIKINGS: The Vikings enter the postseason as the No. 2 seed with a 16-8 overall record and a 10-3 mark in league play. The 10-3 record is the best mark for the Vikings in the NCAA Division III era (since 2010).

One of the best defenses in the country, Berry is holding opponents to 49.6 points per game, good for 13th in the nation. That is thanks to allowing 34.8% from the field and 21.8% from downtown, good for No. 5 in all of Division III.

This Berry team held Birmingham-Southern, who runs the fast-paced "Grinnell Offense" to 69 points on the road on Jan. 21 and 73 at home the following week. Also, BSC is leading the nation in scoring offense with 93 points per contest.

On the offensive side of the ball, Berry had one player in double figures in scoring in Sydney Blankenship has 11.3 points per game. Kennedy Moore leads the rebounding game with 6.1 boards, 2.0 steals and 1.7 blocks per game.

2022 VERSUS BERRY: Berry swept the regular season series over Sewanee in the 2022 regular season. On Jan. 16 in Rome, the Vikings did not allow a three-pointer from the Tigers offense as they won the game, 52-23.

On Feb. 13 from Juhan Gymnasium, Berry posted a 24-7 run in the fourth quarter to defeat the Purple and White, 53-46.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES: Sunday's meeting will be the 20th meeting all-time, with Berry holding the 13-6 advantage.

SAA TOURNAMENT HISTORY: Sewanee is seeking its first-ever victory in the SAA Tournament, as the program has been one and one for the previous eight seasons. Sewanee's last postseason win came in 2005, when the Tigers posted an 84-79 victory over the Fightin' Engineers of Rose-Hulman in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Tournament.

This will be the second time the two teams have met in the tournament, as they battled in the 2015 quarterfinal.

DYNAMIC DUO: Ellie Treanton and Kinsley Logan are ranked eighth and ninth respectively in points per game entering the tournament. Trenton has 12.7 points while Logan is averaging 12.3.

CRASHING AND SCORING: Keisha Phillips is taking care of business on both ends of the floor. On offense, she has posted 11.3 points per game for 11th in the league, and on the other end of the floor, her seven boards per game is ninth-best in the league.

SECOND-CHANCE KAYLA: Sophomore Kayla Antoine has given Sewanee many a second chance on the offense glass. She has totaling 180 rebounds on the year, with 65 coming on the offensive end, good for third in the league.
