ROME, Ga. - The University of the South volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to No. 5 Berry College in a Southern Athletic Association (SAA) match, Friday night from The Cage Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-After the teams went back-and-forth early, Berry scored five stretch points to go out to a 12-8 lead. Sewanee would respond by winning six of the next seven points to go up, 14-13.
-From there, Berry went on a 9-3 run, but Sewanee had some help from Berry and an
Olivia Jones kill to cut the deficit back to two points, 22-20.
-The Vikings would prevail to take the first set, 25-22.
-Despite the set scores in the last two frames, Berry extended its winning streak to 13 matches by out-killing Sewanee, 35-16.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS

Lydia Goffi recorded 12 points on 10 kills and two block assists.

Emma Meyer recorded five aces and added seven digs, while
Adele Cassidy contributed 15 digs.
BERRY KEY STATISTICS
-Olivia Mallow and Peyton Breissinger each tallied 11 kills in the win, as the Vikings posted a .246 swing percentage (51-19-130).
UP NEXT
Sewanee will play two matches in Atlanta on Saturday. The first half of the day will see the Tigers take on the Stormy Petrels of Oglethorpe University at noon ET / 11 a.m. CT from the Donough Field House.
In the evening, Sewanee will take on No. 7 Emory University at 5 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. CT from the Woodruff P.E. Center.
