HOOVER, Ala. - The University of the South women's cross country team posted a team score of fourth place at the 2022 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Cross Country Championships, hosted by Birmingham-Southern College, Saturday from Veterans Park.

TOP WOMEN PERFORMERS
-Sophomore transfer
Emma Grace Hendrickson led the Tigers with a ninth-place finish at the meet with a 24:31.0. Earning All-SAA Second Team honors, the Independence, Minn. native improved her Sewanee best by seven seconds.

Janie Schmitt recorded a top-20 finishing time of 25:07.0.

Merrit Newton (25:21.3) and
Allison Haworth (25:23.5) both recorded top-20 times, while
Sam Ude earned 29th place with a time of 25:58.1.

Jean Tankard improved her personal best time to 27:04.8 at the Championships on Saturday.
Clara Earley rounded out the Sewanee scoring with a 27:16.5.
