Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. - The University of the South volleyball program faltered in straight sets to the Scots of Maryville College, Wednesday night from Juhan Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first set saw both teams swinging the ball well, but the visitors with the 18-12 advantage were late in the set. Sewanee would rally to make it a one-point affair thanks to a 9-2 run, however, the hosts trailed, 21-20, before MC scored the next two points.
-Following a Sewanee timeout, the Tigers won the next three points. With the help of a service error and a bad set by Maryville and Lydia Goffi spiking the ball down, the set was tied at 23 points each.
-However, the momentum swung back to the visitors after a Scots timeout, as they won the final two points to win the set, 25-23.
-The Purple and White did out-kill the Scots, 14-12, in the set, as they recorded a .312 attack percentage.
-The next two sets were a different story, as the Scots dominated to extend their winning streak to 12 matches. MC recorded seven errors in the final two sets on offense, and they held the opposition to a .028 attack percentage (16-14-69).
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Lydia Goffi and Lilly Reilly each contributed eight kills to lead the Tigers. Reilly also added 12 digs and three service aces.
-Anna Ball added three ages, while Ellie Pedersen recorded six kills.
MARYVILLE KEY STATISTICS
-Maggie Mathews led the Scots with 12 points thanks to nine kills, two service aces and a solo block.
-Hanna Pots recorded a .429 hitting percentage with eight kills on 14 swings and two errors committed.
