Men’s Tennis Downs Covenant for Third Win in a Row

SEWANEE, Tenn. - The No. 21 University of the South men's tennis team earned its third win in a row, defeating regional foe Covenant College in shutout fashion, 9-0, Wednesday from the Charlotte Guerry Indoor Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Led by Matt Barnett/Liam Baer at the No. 1, Sewanee secured a doubles sweep. Barnett/Baer recorded an 8-2 win over Austin Dreslinski/Solomon Crouch.

-The Tigers recorded the sweep in singles as well to secure the shutout. Jax Harbour won the No. 5 flight by blanking Chris Morton in straight sets for his fifth win of the campaign.

-Noah Holsclaw recorded his sixth win of the year, tying the most on the team with Ryan Olps, with his 6-1, 6-2 victory over Ethan Gibson at the No. 2 position.

-The Tigers ended the Scots' five-match winning streak on Tuesday, as Covenant is atop the USA South West Division standings.
