Men’s Tennis Completes Weekend Sweep of Centre

SEWANEE, Tenn. - The No. 21 University of the South men's tennis team secured a weekend sweep of Centre College with a 7-2 triumph, Sunday morning from the Guerry Indoor Courts.

CLASS OF 2021!
-Sewanee celebrated its three seniors on Senior Day: Alejandro Becker, Jack Metzger and Ryan Olps.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Despite the Colonels winning the No. 1 doubles point, the Tigers went on to win the other two points to take the 2-1 advantage. What helped Sewanee claim the lead was the No. 2 doubles team of Thomas Harrison/Hugh Graham. Going into a tiebreak, the team posted the 7-4 win to take the point, 8-7.

-Sewanee secured the match with five of six singles wins. Jax Harbour went to a tiebreak in both of his sets with Danny Nelson, but the freshman prevailed with a 7-6, 7-6 win.

-Ryan Olps, Noah Holsclaw and Peyton Erck posted a shutout set in their respective wins. Erck allowed just one point to Ian Cowan at the No. 6 flight.
