HOW IT HAPPENED
-Under the lights at Puett Field, things got interesting for the host Tigers, as they were red-carded in the 26th minute and had to play with 10 players for the rest of the match, over 84 minutes.
-Oglethorpe started the scoring with a late first half goal in the 33rd minute. After James Williams' shot was deflected by a Sewanee defender, Fernando Guevara picked up the rebound and found the bottom of the net.
-From then on, the Petrels were out of sync, only getting four shots on target the rest of the match. However, Sewanee maintained its composure, and in the 87th minute, after a free kick pass by Ethan Dutka, Evan Poole found the back of the net for the equalizer.
-90 minutes would not be enough for these two teams, as they went into extra time. Neither team could muster a shot in the first 10-minute extra period, but in the second period, Sewanee out-shot Oglethorpe, 4-1.
-After 110 minutes, the match ended in a draw.
-Oglethorpe did out-shoot Sewanee 22-12 for the match, but the Petrels only had nine shots on goal to the Tigers' eight.
