WE MISSED YOU: Centre and Sewanee will meet for the third time in the history of the SAA Tournament, and it will be the first time the two teams have battled in the semifinals.
The Colonels have been unbeaten in their previous two meetings with the Tigers. In the 2014 meeting in Conway, Ark., the teams were forced to go to penalty kicks after neither team could score in 110 minutes. Centre edged the Purple and White, 3-2, to advance.
In 2018, Centre hosted Sewanee in the quarterfinals, and it was the Colonels who took the contest, 2-0, en route to winning the 2018 SAA Tournament Championship.
Despite the latest struggles, Sewanee still holds the advantage in the all-time series in postseason matches, 5-2-1, according to acquired records.
DOWN GOES BERRY: Berry, the 2020-21 SAA Tournament Champion, was taken down by Birmingham-Southern in the quarterfinals, 4-1, on Oct. 30.
CATCH THEM OFF GUARD EARLY: In the regular season matchup on Oct. 23, Sewanee was able to score an early goal off of Centre, as
Connor Cheynet found
Evan Poole's pass for the strike in the Tigers' 1-1 draw with the Colonels.
