ATLANTA - Announced on Wednesday by the Southern Athletic Association (SAA), four volleyball student-athletes from the University of the South were recognized on the postseason All-Conference Team.
Ellie Pedersen and
Adele Cassidy were listed on the Second Team, while
Lydia Goffi and
Lilly Reilly were named Honorable Mention.
Pedersen, a senior from Nashville, Tenn., earned her second postseason All-Conference selection after being named the SAA Newcomer of the Year in 2018. In 2021, she tallied a .301 swing percentage (157-31-419), good for fourth-best in the league, and her 31 errors committed were the third-fewest in the SAA. Additionally, she also posted 190.5 points thanks to 157 kills and 46 blocks.
She concludes her career with the Purple and White with 432 kills and a career .314 attack percentage (432-94-1,078).
Cassidy, a sophomore from Tampa, Fla., totaled 366 digs during the 2021 campaign, good for sixth in the conference. She also contributed 24 service aces.
Goffi, a junior from McDonough, Ga., recorded 161 kills and added 30 blocks for 198.5 total points.
Reilly, a senior from Lovettsville, Va., posted 210.5 points on 177 kills, 27 aces and 12 blocks. Additionally, she tallied 270 digs on the back row.
She wraps up her career at Sewanee with 874 digs, 713 kills and 143 aces in 299 sets played.
The Tigers finished the 2021 campaign with a 10-12 record and made it to the semifinals of the SAA Volleyball Tournament.
