Women's Soccer Drops Decision at No. 11/6 Centre

DANVILLE, Ky. - The Sewanee women's soccer concluded the regular season on Saturday with a 5-0 setback against the Colonels of Centre College from Amend Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Colonels struck for two goals in a 1:39 span in the 19th and 20 minutes to lead 2-0 at the break.

-Centre added three more goals by Meghan Payner (58', 78') and Sarah Sirikin (70').

-Sewanee was limited to one shot for the 90 minutes, while the hosts took 28.

-Centre is ranked 11th in the latest United Soccer Coaches poll and sixth in the D3soccer.Com poll.

SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Bea Richardson had the lone shot attempt for Sewanee in the match.

-Sam Bourgeois (0-1-0) saved nine shots in full time at the net.

The Tigers will turn their attention to the 2019 Southern Athletic Association Women's Soccer Tournament, which begins on Saturday, Nov. 2. Despite the loss, Sewanee will host a quarterfinal match at Puett Field. Match times and opponent information will be given after the conference office releases the official bracket.
