Box Score DEMOREST, Ga. - The Sewanee men's soccer team concluded the non-conference portion of the 2019 regular season schedule with a 4-1 win over Piedmont Wednesday night from the Walker Athletic Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Tigers opened the scoring early in the 12th and 19th minutes. Christian Kirk netted his third goal of the year off a Thompson Schollaert pass. Six and a half minutes later, Schollaert followed with a goal of his own from Bryan Franklin.
-Piedmont avoided the shutout with a 30th minute penalty kick goal, but it was the visitors in Sewanee with the 2-1 advantage at the intermission.
-Sewanee pulled away from Piedmont in the second half thanks to two goals. In the 52nd minute, Tashinga Vhumisai found a wide open Evan Poole for his fourth goal of the season.
-In the 65th minute, Marco Randazzo struck for his first goal of the year from a Kirk cross.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Thompson Schollaert recorded three points on Wednesday night with a goal and assist each on five total shots. The sophomore has recorded a goal in each of his last five matches.
-Christian Kirk added a goal and assist each in the win as well.
-Evan Poole had three total shots, two on-target, with a goal.
James Murray (11-3-1) stopped five shots in 78:24 in goal.
PIEDMONT KEY STATISTICS
-Jose Linares, Jarrett Scott, Cameron Earls and Luke Tekliemariam each had two shots to lead the Lions.
-Sam Pelletier (4-4-1) recorded eight saves in full time.
