CLASS OF 2019!
-Prior to the match, Sewanee recognized its four seniors for Senior Day: Kyle Johnston, William Merriman, Zach Zimmerman and Bobby Zolper.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Tigers had the momentum early in the contest with a 17th-minute goal by Kyle Johnston from an Ethan Dutka cross.
-However, Centre responded with two goals in a 4:11 span from the 25th to 29th minutes to take the lead for good, 2-1.
-In the 70th minute, the visitors added an insurance goal to seal the match.
SEWANEE KEY STATISTICS
-Kyle Johnston scored once on five shots, three on goal.
-Thompson Schollaert took four shots for the Tigers.
-William Merriman (0-1) played 37:28 in goal for Sewanee.
CENTRE KEY STATISTICS
-Royce Pope, Alexander Garuba and Ethan Noel each scored a goal for Centre.
-Bailey Spade (11-4-1) saved four shots in full time.
UP NEXT
With the regular season in the books, the Tigers will turn their attention to the Southern Athletic Association Tournament. Sewanee will re-match with the Colonels of Centre next Saturday, Oct. 27. Kickoff is yet to be determined.
