Tigers Downed by Maryville in Home Opener

SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Sewanee women's soccer team were unable to net a goal against Maryville, as the Scots defeated the Tigers, 1-0, Tuesday night at Puett Field.

Maryville (1-1-1) netted the game-winner in the 20th minute by Shannon Reagan off a Hannah Clothier assist about 20 yards out from the net.

The Tigers (0-2-1) were limited to only two shots in the first half as Maryville outshots Sewanee, 13-6.

Samantha Bourgeois (0-2-1) recorded four saves as she played to full time in the match.

The Tigers return to action Saturday with a non-conference tilt with NCAA Division II opponent Trevecca Nazarene in Nashville. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m.
