Sewanee Swim & Dive Earns Weekend Split with Win at Transy

Results

LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Sewanee swimming and diving teams completed their weekend trip in Kentucky with wins over Transylvania in a dual meet on Saturday. The women won the dual event, 138-88, while the men's team took down the Pioneers, 148-47.

WOMEN'S TOP PERFORMANCES
-Freshman Bailey Stevens won two events: the 500-yard and 1,000-yard freestyles. Stevens swam to a time of 5:35.8 in the 500 and an 11:29.62 mark in the 1,000.
-Meghan Mulhern also won two events on Saturday: the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyles. She swam to a 55.75 mark in 100 yards and 2:03.98 in the 200 yards.
-The team of Ashley Krueger, Kate del Balzo, Stevens and Mulhern won the 400-yard freestyle relay, finishing with a 3:58.55 time.

MEN'S TOP PERFORMANCES
-James Hoyt was a part of three wins on Saturday. In the 200-yard medley relay, he, along with Carl Failing, Kipling Klimas and Robert Coles, swam to a 1:42.69 mark. He also won the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.63) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:02.51).
-Jacob Finco recorded two wins in the 100-yard freestyle and assisted in winning the 400-yard freestyle relay with Owen Pearson, Lee Haber and Coles. In the 100-yard, he swam to a 50.64-second finish. In the relay, the team swam a 3:27.86.

The Tigers will return to the Domain next weekend for the Igloo Invitational.
