Women's Tennis

No. 12 Tigers defeat Transylvania, 5-0

SEWANEE, Tenn. (Feb. 19, 2016) – The No. 12 ranked Sewanee women's tennis team defeated visiting regional-rival Transylvania, 5-0, Saturday, at the Bruton-Guerry Tennis Center.

The Tigers are now 4-2 overall.

Sewanee opened by sweeping all three doubles matches. At No. 1 doubles, Lindsey Liles and Clementina Davila defeated Williams and Arnato, 8-0. At No. 2 doubles and No. 3, both Mary Jane McCaghren and Haley Tucker and Kate Johnston and Elske Parker both won their matches also at 8-0.

In singles action, Maggie Crumbliss topped Lily Williams at No. 1, 6-0, 6-0 while Johnston rolled over Christina Franz by the same score.
