Box Score CONWAY, Ark. (Oct. 16, 2016) – An outstanding performance by the Sewanee men's soccer team led the Tigers to a 3-0 Southern Athletic Association (SAA) victory over Hendrix, Sunday, at Warrior Field.
The Tigers finished with 25 shots, which were the most attempts Sewanee has finished with since September 27 against Huntingdon. In fact, Sewanee is 3-0-1 in matches this fall that they have had at least 25 shots.
Sewanee netted its firsts two goals late in the first half. With 33 minutes off the clock, Marco Randazzo netted his third goal in the last three weeks off a great pass from Tristan Carlson. Minutes later, Ramsey Seagle dribbled into the box and ripped a shot in with less than 10 minutes left before halftime.
Sewanee then scored for the final time less than two minutes off the clock to start the second half. Zach Birkhead played a ball to Alpo Sipillä, who then found Ben Vaeth for the final score.
Overall, Matt Hawse led the attack with six shots. Ryan McDonald had five attempts while Seagle, Vaeth, Randazzo, and Birkhead all finished with multiple shots.
Sewanee returns to action with a 6:00 p.m. match against Maryville, Tuesday.
