Women's soccer rolls over Agnes Scott, 5-1

Box Score

DECATUR, Ga. (Sept. 19, 2015) – The Sewanee women's soccer team earned a 5-1 road victory at Agnes Scott, Saturday.

The Tigers are now 2-3-1 overall heading into their conference opener next Saturday at Centre.

Sewanee opened the match as Tasha Saunders netted a goal off an assist from Erin Gill. Agnes Scott would briefly net the equalizer when Stephanie Hicks scored in the 26th minute.

Sewanee did not let up its lead for long as Baker Walls and Tyler Edell both scored to give Sewanee a 3-1 lead at the intermission.

Any chance of an Agnes Scott comeback was short lived, as Nikki Johnston scored early in the final period off an assist from Shelby Meckstroth.

Johnston would add one final insurance goal late when Martha Dinwiddle found her in the 87th minute.

Overall, Sewanee dominated on offense with a 30-7 shot advantage. The Tigers also held a 3-1 lead in corners.
