Box Score LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 13, 2015) – Junior Shelby Meckstroth netted a goal in the 30th minute to lift the Sewanee women's soccer team to a 1-0 win at Transylvania, Sunday, at Pat Deacon Stadium.
The Tigers are now 1-2-1 this season.
Meckstroth used a pass from Savannah Williams and scored the game-winner late in the first half.
Overall, Sewanee outshot the Pioneers 13-8. The Tigers also held a 14-2 advantage in corners. In fact, Transy was limited by the Tigers' ability to hold possession with three shots and one corner the final 45 minutes of the match.
Sewanee returns home for the first time since September 1 with a 6:30 p.m. match, Tuesday against Covenant.
