SEWANEE, Tenn. (March 8, 2015) – The No. 14 Sewanee women's tennis team swept visiting Agnes Scott, 9-0, Sunday.
Playing a different lineup in doubles, the Sewanee team of Clementina Davila and Kate Johnston earned a 8-0 run at No. 1 doubles. The Tiger team of Maggie Crumbliss and Christina Merchant earned an 8-1 victory at No. 2. Then Elske Parker and Taylor Childress won at No. 3 by a score of 8-1.
In singles play Bronte Goodhue was perfect at No. 1 against Claina Rinaldo with a 6-0, 6-0 win. Merchant won at No. 2 while Crumbliss won at No. 3 over Anne Rinaldo by a tally of 6-0, 6-1.
At No. 4 singles Annie Veron defeated Taylor Lee 6-1, 6-0 while Childress earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Nikki Langford at No. 5.
Finally, Mariah Smith topped Camille Wilson by a score of 6-1, 6-3 while Emily Sirbaugh earned an 8-0 win against Anastasia Bennett.
Sewanee will now head west for spring break for a March 13th contest against Carnegie Mellon.
