Despite a strong day by Liles, No. 7 Carnegie Mellon defeats No. 14 Sewanee

MALIBU, Calif. (March 13, 2015) – The No. 14 Sewanee women's tennis team fell against No. 7 Carnegie Mellon, 6-3, Friday in Malibu, Calif.

Sewanee is now 5-3 on the season with all three losses coming against nationally-ranked opponents.

In doubles action the Tigers won at No. 1 as Bronte Goodhue and Lindsey Liles defeated Bryn Raschke and Cori Sidell, 8-2.

After Carnegie Mellon won at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, Sewanee earned two wins in singles.

At No. 2 Liles continued her outstanding season with an impressive 6-4, 6-2 victory against Angela Pratt.

At No. 5 singles Anne Veron defeated Stacy Chang with two 6-4 set victories.

Sewanee continues its season with a 10:00 a.m. match against Redlands, Saturday.
