Box Score SAA Tournament Bracket
ROME, Ga. (Feb. 22, 2015) – A tough second half hampered the Sewanee women's basketball team at Berry Sunday, as the Tigers dropped their regular season finale 78-63 inside the Cage Center.
Sewanee closed out its regular season with a 12-12 overall record and a 4-10 mark in league play. The Tigers enter next weekend's SAA Tournament as the No. 7 seed. Sewanee will take No. 2 seed Berry on the campus of Millsaps College, Friday.

In Sunday's contest, the Tigers played well early. Sewanee made 46.7 percent of its attempts in the opening 20 minutes. In fact, behind early field goals by Jamie Chauvin, Casey Hassett, and Savannah Rose, Sewanee led by five, 10-5, after the first five minutes of action.
The Tigers eventually pushed their advantage to as much as seven, 19-12, after Rebekah Faulkner made a layup.
Unfortunately, Berry chipped away at its deficit. The Vikings eventually led by two, 33-31, at halftime after closing the half on a 21-12 run.
In the second half, Berry kept rolling. With Sewanee's offense struggling, the Vikings opened their largest lead – 23 points – with 7:52 to play.
From there, Sewanee would continue to play hard, however the Tiger deficit was too much to overcome.
Despite outrebounding Berry 59-33, the Tigers and the Vikings both managed to score 28 points inside the paint. Sewanee was undone by a 36.8 field goal percentage, which included a 3-of-12 effort from beyond the three-point line.
Individually, Chauvin led Sewanee with 23 points. Hassett also played well with a 15-point, 14-rebound double-double.
Mel McLean led four Berry players in double figures with 23 points and five steals.
