A big second half helps Maryville past Sewanee

SEWANEE, Tenn. (Sept. 16, 2014) – In-state rival Maryville used a big second half to down the Sewanee men's soccer team, 5-0, Tuesday at Puett Field.

The visiting Scots opened the scoring when Thomas Palmer converted a penalty kick in the 30th minute.

Maryville would eventually add four more goals in the second half.

Sewanee was undone by some costly miscues in the final 45 minutes. Maryville took advantage of the mistakes by scoring three goals in an eight-minute stretch.

The Tigers will look to bounce back with a 7:00 p.m. Friday, at Huntingdon.
