No. 15 Sewanee swings past No. 25 Case Western Reserve

SEWANEE, Tenn. (Feb. 23, 2014) – The No. 15 Sewanee women's tennis team earned an impressive 6-3 win over No. 25 Case Western Reserve, Sunday, at the Bruton-Guerry Tennis Center.

The Tigers opened by winning two doubles matches. At No. 1, Bronte Goodhue and Lindsey Liles stayed unbeaten with a quick 8-1 win over Sara Zargham and Marianne Bonanno.

After Case Western won at No. 2, senior Mary Taylor Tepper and sophomore Annie Veron defeated Taylor Sweeney and Jennifer Lowe by a score of 8-5.

In singles, Goodhue and Veron won at No. 1 and No. 2 in tough three-set contests.

Then, at No. 4, Tepper won the deciding point when she topped Surya Khadilkar with a 6-4, 6-7, 6-2 victory.

At the No. 3 position, Liles earned the Tigers' final win of the day with a 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 victory.

After back-to-back matches against nationally-ranked opponents, Sewanee continues its early season homestand with a noon contest against Kenyon, Saturday.
